Alcitepe Village
In the northeast of Seddulbahir a village was established in the skirts
of Alcitepe Peaks and it was completely destroyed because of bombardments during the war period due to
the Seddulbahir-Alcitepe line headquarters and Turkish gunners being stationed there in 1915 battes.
The village was very close to the line of battle where British and French
forces made a landing operation and they kept this position until the end of the battles. Hence with
the exception of the beginning of the war the village was gradually utilised by the Turkish forces. There
are the Alcitepe Garrison Monument, Last Arrow Monument and martyrdom, Zıgındere Nuri Yamut Monument,
Gozetleme Tepe Martydom and Monument and Salim Mutlu Museum at Alcıtepe, all 6.5 kilometres away from
Seddulbahir around the road and where the road and the sea intersect.
Alcitepe Village which still keeps its agricultural character has
1640 hectors of agricultural land. Wheat, barley, sunflower, sesame and cotton are it is most
important products. They rear goats, sheep and cows and have olive groves. The village owns two
olive oil presses and an olive oprocessing center.
